Homework Term 4
Homework this term involves weekly tasks and a research task. The research task is outlined below. The weekly tasks include nightly reading, revision of spelling and completing maths tasks.
Nightly reading: Read anything of interest to you, a book, magazine, comic, newspaper, online article it is totally up to you.
Revision of spelling: This means you can do any spelling activities related to your words and any other words you might wish to practise. You can do online games through spelling city, create a find a word, include your words in stories, write rhymes for words, highlight spelling patterns, the list goes on.
Math tasks: For maths you can play any online games listed in our Google Classroom, any dice or card games we have played, IXL or StudyLadder or you may want to grab a maths mentals worksheet off me to help you get all 10 finished first!

Homework task term 4
This term you are given the task of researching a famous Australian. You must conduct your own research into your chosen person and creatively present your information.
Important pieces of information are:
Content: Quality and quantity of your information. Have you included information on the person, their life before becoming famous, their family, why they are famous and why you have selected them? Have you discussed what impact they have had on others? /10
Presentation: Quality of your presentation. Have you taken care with your work? Is it easy for the reader/ audience to understand and follow? have you included multiple modes to communicate your research (text, images, audio) /5
Text and Language features: The features of the text type you are using. Have you checked your spelling and punctuation? Have you got paragraphs? Have you included a contents page or headings if they are required? Have you incorporated specific vocab related to the person you are researching? /5
Referencing: Make sure you record where you got your information from. Is it a reliable source? Could it have just been made up? Remember to record the name of the website/ book and if using a website copy the URL and record this information at the end of you work or if you are presenting in speech form send it to me in a Google Doc. /5

- You must address the success criteria.
- The task will be broken up into sections and you must meet each deadline.
- Friday week 2 (16.10.15) - person selected and teacher informed of selection through Google Classroom
- Friday week 3 (23.10.15) - Research underway. Inform teacher of two pieces of interesting information through Google Classroom
- Friday week 4 (30.10.15) - Presentation started (poster, speech, movie, diary……)
- Friday week 5 (7.11.15) - Present research to the class :)
