Homework
Homework this year will focus on reading, learning times tables and reinforcing our classroom learning. It is not designed to be anything new or to cause any angst for anyone. If there are any concerns in regards to homework please contact me and let me know.
Reading: Reading is a crucial part of homework. You should be reading for at least 15 minutes every night. The best way to become a better reader is to read! It is also the best way to become a better writer. Read to yourself, to a friend, a parent, a sibling even the family pet. Just read!
Maths: The focus this term is learning our times tables. Having a good understanding of multiplication and a quick recall of times tables will assist in other areas of maths including fractions, division, mental computation and problem solving.
Individual learning: Throughout the year you will be given a variety of individual learning intentions. These are based on personal areas that are a focus for you. These may be linked to maths or literacy or may be in regards to research or time management.
